Plans have been submitted to a council for 40 new homes to be built in a small village.

The proposals lodged with Broadland Council are for the homes to be built in Buxton, near Aylsham in Norfolk.

The new properties would be built across five acres of farmland to the north of the village, which is currently home to about 1,000 people.

The developer expects most of the dwellings to be two-storey, with four being bungalows, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service.

The plans include creating 40 new homes, a public open space and new roads and pathways that will provide access to the site.

The village has amenities including a shop and primary school and is located along the Bure Valley Railway line, which runs between Aylsham and Wroxham.

The plans for Buxton are expected to be reviewed by Broadland Council.
