A second man has been arrested on suspicion of the murder of a man who was shot dead.

A 26-year-old from the Kirkby area was held as part of the investigation into the death of Rikki Berry in Knowsley on 17 July.

A 20-year-old man was arrested last week on suspicion of murdering 36-year-old Mr Berry in Quarryside Drive.

Mr Berry died in hospital after being shot in what Merseyside Police said was believed to be a targeted attack.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen this black Seat Ateca Cupra to come forward

The latest arrest is the sixth in connection with Mr Berry's death.

Two women, aged 19 and 50, a 22-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy, all from Prescot, were held on suspicion of assisting an offender.

All have been bailed and the investigation is continuing, a police representative added.

Detectives investigating the murder have issued photographs of a "vehicle of interest" and appealed for anyone who may have seen it or have video footage of it to contact them.

They said the black Seat Ateca Cupra was seized in Prescot on Friday.

Det Ch Insp Cath Cummings said: “Our enquiries are moving at a fast pace. We now need the public’s help in tracing the movements of the car prior to the murder and afterwards.

“I would ask anyone living in or around the Prescot area to check their dash cams, CCTV or doorbell cameras to see if they captured the car."
