Murder inquiry after man dies and two injured

A murder investigation has been launched after a man died and two other people were injured at a house in York.

North Yorkshire Police said it was called to an address in the Haxby Road area at 19:20 GMT on Saturday and two men and a woman were found to have sustained injuries.

One of the men, who was in his 20s and from the Bradford area, was taken to hospital, where he later died.

The other man was also taken hospital treatment where police said he was in a stable condition. The force has not provided any further details of the woman's injuries.

A spokesperson said: "A cordon has been placed around the scene, at a residential address, and there will continue to be an increased police presence in the area.

“We’re continuing to work closely with the community and have been carrying out extensive inquiries."
