A man who attacked another man in a town bar and left him with life-threatening injuries has been jailed.

The 23-year-old victim was found unconscious after being punched at the bar in Prince Street, Bridlington, at about 01:30 GMT on 23 February.

On Monday, Lee Marshall, 31, of Portland Road, Nottingham, appeared before Hull Crown Court, where he was sentenced to 18 months' imprisonment.

He pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm and not guilty to assault by beating at a hearing before the same court on 26 March. The judge ordered the assault charge to lie on file.
