Man suffers serious injuries in suspected stabbing

It is believed the victim and the offender are known to one another

A man in his 20s has been taken to hospital in a serious condition following a suspected stabbing in a town's high street.

Dorset Police said armed officers were sent to Poole High Street after the man was found with injuries to his arm shortly before 03:00 BST.

The force said it was believed the victim and the attacker were known to one another. No arrests have yet been made.

Officers remained at the scene and a cordon was in place as inquiries were carried out to identify the offender and understand the full circumstances of what happened.
