An ice rink in Jersey will be closed on Sunday due to forecasted high winds.

The Weighbridge Ice Rink in St Helier, known as Jersey on Ice, will be closed for the whole day on Sunday, the Jersey Development Company (JDC) announced.

It comes as Jersey Met has forecasted winds of up to 60mph (95km/h) for Sunday.

JDC said the safety of its staff and visitors was its "top priority" and said it appreciated the public's understanding.

It said those with tickets booked for skating on Sunday could reschedule their bookings in advance using the online booking system or at the ice rink before Saturday evening.

The company apologised for any inconvenience caused.
