Police in Gloucestershire are appealing for information about a man in connection with an attempted murder on Christmas Eve.

Officers were called to an address on Cromwell Street, Gloucester, around 0230 GMT, where a man was found with serious injuries.

He was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol, and has since been discharged.

Gloucestershire Police said they want to speak to 32-year-old Alexander Flangan, from the Tewkesbury area, in connection with the incident.

He is described as being white, 6 ft in height (1.82m), and of a medium build, with short greying hair.

Gloucestershire Police said they believe those involved in the stabbing are known to each other, and have warned members of the public not to approach Mr Flanagan but to call police if they see him instead.
