A county council is set to expand its network of hubs which support young people going into work and training.

Devon County Council said new centres were planned at the Family Hub in Ilfracombe and the Old Heathcoat School Community Centre in Tiverton.

A Youth and Employment Hub provides skills and employment support for people aged 16 and over who need help to start work and prepare for the future, Devon County Council said.

Hubs can be accessed in person or online and offer services including CV writing, training in interview skills and help to find work experience.

The hubs also benefit employers and businesses by helping future employees get the skills they need, Devon County Council said.

Rufus Gilbert, Cabinet Member for Economic Recovery and Skills, said: "It’s excellent news that our network of Employment Hubs is growing and more communities will be able to benefit from the services they offer."
