Alert over travel delays after Chatham burst main

Commuters have been warned to expect "major delays" as a road is closed as engineers repair a burst water main in Chatham.
Bus company Arriva Kent said "major delays" were expected to services as a section of New Road Avenue is closed near to the junction with New Cut, possibly until the weekend.
The 101 service between Gillingham and Maidstone, the 176 from Chatham to Gillingham and Strood-bound services are among those affected.
Arriva Kent said: "All traffic is diverting via New Cut and Gibraltar Hill around Chatham Rail Station in both directions due to a road closure."
Water has been restored to 3,400 properties after they were affected by intermittent outages and a loss of pressure following the burst on Wednesday afternoon.
Southern Water said repairs to the water main would be difficult due to the challenging location, and a nearby a bridge.
The water company apologised to customers affected by the disruption.
