A 10-year-old girl known as DJ Steady is getting ready to perform at music festivals across the UK and in Ibiza.

Eden, from Milton Keynes, has been perfecting her skills since her dad bought her some decks when she was eight.

Within weeks she hosted a show at her own ninth birthday party and went on to be a finalist at Mix Master, a competition for adult DJs.

She said: "Most of my friends like pop music and dance but I like jungle, drum and bass and afrohouse. I like fast music rather than music with loads of lyrics."

The young rising star has played countless gigs at venues including the Unit Nine club in Milton Keynes.

She said: "Before I go on, I'm a little bit nervous. When I'm up there I can't help but smile but sometimes I don't smile because I'm concentrating.

"It just makes me feel really good when I'm up there."

After performing in Ibiza later this year, she is hopeful for more gigs in other countries.

This coming weekend she will play her first ever festival, In It Together in Wales and said she hoped to run into Becky Hill backstage.

Eden's mother Maria said her daughter was smashing barriers on the DJ scene

Her mother Maria said: "I've been very much into clubbing festivals myself, so that's what she's grown up with.

"It's mind-blowing. She vibes off the crowd. She really wants to make sure kids that come to family events know it's possible no matter how old you are to follow your dreams.

"A lot of the industry is 18 and above, but she's proving being 10 isn't a barrier anymore."
