Woman hit by car seriously injured

A woman has been seriously injured after being hit by a car outside a Coventry sports centre.
West Midlands Ambulance Service said it was called to an area off Kirby Corner Road, which runs through the University of Warwick's campus, at about 14:23 BST on Tuesday.
The woman was given trauma care at the scene before being taken to hospital in an ambulance.
West Midlands Police said it was called to the area shortly before 14:00 and a woman was taken to hospital with injuries "not thought to be life-threatening".
