Police are looking for a boy in a Spider-Man jumper who helped them find a group of missing children.

The youngster, thought to be called Mark and about six years old with light brown hair, spoke to neighbourhood policing officers in Eastfield Park, Northampton.

He pointed them in the right direction when the group of children went missing on 22 August.

Northamptonshire Police said he even "ran ahead of them in order to assist on the job".

As well as the blue superhero jumper, he was also wearing trainers with green soles on the bottom, the force said on its website.

PC Polly Scott from the Northampton Neighbourhood Policing Team said: "This young man was determined to help us find these children and we're really grateful for his help and show of community spirit.

"We'd love to find him to pass on our thanks and to commend him for his help."
