Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service has released images showing the extent of a lorry fire that closed the M1 southbound.

Police were called to the scene of a crash between two lorries, near junction 20 at Lutterworth, shortly before 05:30 GMT on Monday.

In a social media post on Wednesday, the fire service said both lorries had been "well alight" and it was a "large and complex incident" attended by multiple fire crews.

Officers said the southbound carriageway remained closed for the rest of the day while the vehicles were recovered and resurfacing work completed.

The road fully reopened at 00:50 GMT on Tuesday.

Leicestershire Police said no-one was injured in the crash.
