The M1 is closed southbound in Leicestershire after a crash involving two lorries resulted in a fire.

Police were called to reports of a crash on the carriageway, near junction 20 at Lutterworth, shortly before 05:30 GMT on Monday.

Leicestershire Police closed the road in both directions between junctions 20 and 21 while firefighters tackled the blaze.

The northbound carriageway has since reopened, but the force has said the southbound road will be closed "until further notice".

Officers said no-one was injured in the crash and advised drivers to avoid the area while the incident was dealt with.
