Post swim event to bring people together - charity

A charity in Guernsey is hoping to provide a sense of belonging for islanders with a new monthly event.
The Salvation Army café, in Nocq Road, St Sampson, will be hosting monthly post swim coffee and bacon rolls to "create a community vibe" for swimmers.
Jill Chadwick, community co-ordinator, said the event was not limited to swimmers.
She said: "It's not only swimmers, obviously the café will be open to all comers - hopefully, we're going to get the vibe going on a Saturday morning and we'll see who comes."
Ms Chadwick said: "It's going to be something a bit different and we hope that swimmers in the north will support it."
She said she hoped the event at the centre would be welcoming for all.
Ms Chadwick said said: "Often people feel they lack community and we're trying to provide more areas where people can step into that and find a community that they can become part of.
"In my past experience of working in different roles, I know how important it is for people to feel they belong to something."
The first event is set to take place on Saturday 5 October.
