People inspired by the Paralympics are being offered an opportunity to win medals of their own in a variety of adapted sports and activities.

The Inclusive Olympics at Grimsby Leisure Centre will be open to competitors of all abilities.

Events will include badminton, soft-ball cricket, rebound trampolining, table cricket and football.

Participants will also embark on a collective challenge to ride the equivalent of the 500 miles (805km) between Grimsby and Paris – the home of this year's Olympics and Paralympics – on adapted bikes.

The event is being organised by Lincs Inspire, Care Plus Group, North East Lincolnshire Badminton Development Group and 2020 Community Sport.

Jaki Balmer, a specialist physiotherapist at Care Plus Group, said taking part in sport made "a huge difference" to the lives of people who attended weekly disability sessions at the leisure centre and helped to "inspire achievement".

The Inclusive Olympics are open to people aged five and above and will be staged from 10:00 to 14:00 BST on 25 September.
