A woman was arrested after police found 1,000 suspected stolen toys in a raid.

Devon and Cornwall Police raided two properties at Carn Brea near Camborne on Tuesday.

A 41-year-old woman from Camborne, was arrested on suspicion of money laundering and possession of criminal property, and has been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

A 13-year-old girl was also arrested but police said she has since been released and will face no further action.

The force said the discovery of the toys followed an operation using plain-clothed police officers in November, aimed at disrupting shoplifting and other associated crimes.

Insp Wayne Hicks, from the force, said the investigation would continue.

He said: "We’ve seized hundreds, possibly more than one thousand items which are suspected to be stolen.

"For now, these will have to remain as evidence whilst the investigation is ongoing."

Anyone with information was urged to get in touch with police.
