Road closures are being put in place as police continue a murder investigation following the death of a teenage motorist.

Two 16-year-old boys were found with serious injuries after a crash outside the Liquid Leisure Centre on the Horton Road in Datchet, Berkshire on Saturday afternoon. One later died in hospital.

Thames Valley Police renewed an appeal for information and said part of Horton Road would be closed from 09:00 BST on Tuesday.

A 56-year-old man from Datchet, initially arrested on suspicion of drink-driving, was subsequently arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder and remains in custody.

Horton Road is due to close from Mill Place and the closure will run to Datchet Road at the junction of Stanwell Road and Park Lane, police said.

Det Insp Stuart May said the road closures were necessary as part of the"essential enquiries to support our ongoing murder investigation".

"I appreciate the inconvenience that these road closures will cause, however it is necessary in order to establish the facts in this case. Diversion signs will be in place.

“Further, I want to use this opportunity to again appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision or may have footage from the area on Saturday afternoon to please contact the force as soon as possible."
