Man arrested on suspicion of rape in park

A man has been arrested on suspicion of rape in a park.
Cumbria Police said the alleged attack happened in Castle Park, Whitehaven, between 01:25 and 02:30 BST on Sunday.
A 44-year-old man from Whitehaven has been arrested and remains in custody.
The female victim is being supported by specialist officers and partners, the force said.
A police presence remains in the area while officers continue with their investigation.
