A planned new departure lounge at Alderney Airport would double its capacity.

Guernsey Ports has asked for planning permission to replace the current portacabin, which has been in use for more than 15 years.

The proposed cabin would be 6.1m x 4.9m (20ft x 16ft) with a covered link to the terminal building and improved accessibility.

Susanna Durman, from Guernsey Ports, said the work needed to be carried out before "any major works at the airport" and if approved would happen early this summer.
