Dozens of arrests after people report offences

More than 40 people have been arrested in Torquay on suspicion of shoplifting, drug dealing and violent offences in the last two months.
Devon and Cornwall Police said 44 people were arrested between May and June due to members of the public reporting the offences.
Insp Chris Lithgow said: "Your reports have meant we’ve been able to achieve these positive results to help make our streets safer."
The force said officers would continue with high visibility foot and vehicle patrols across Torquay to "target and deter" those considering committing crimes.
Insp Lithgow said the force took all reports seriously and information helped target "criminals on our streets".
He said: "Your information is really important to us, no matter how small you may think it is.
"We also want all victims to know that if they do come forward to report a crime to us, their needs will remain at the forefront of our investigations."
