Guernsey FC inspires 'incredible' Subbuteo set

A man has built a tabletop football set inspired by Guernsey FC.

Dylan Berry, from Brighton, said he had spent about 15 hours creating the unique set.

He created a set inspired by Jersey Bulls FC in February.

Mr Berry started creating Subbuteo teams as a hobby during lockdown to combat boredom.

"I started buying teams on eBay, then I started painting my own teams because you couldn't get a lot of the teams I was looking for," he said.

"From there I just started painting a lot of teams on my own and here we are doing Jersey Bulls and Guernsey FC."

Guernsey FC was founded in 2011 and plays in the Isthmian League.

Mr Berry said he tended to paint teams outside the top division with "interesting stories behind them".

"Guernsey have got a very strong badge, which lends itself well to designing a box," he said.

"I don't do many green kits - a lot of teams tend to be red.

"It was a different colour I haven't done in a while, so that was one of the reasons I chose them."

Guernsey FC defender Tom Vaudin said the characters in the set looked "incredible".

"The detail on them is absolutely insane," he said.

"It's also really cool that such a relatively new club is being represented in such an iconic way."
