Delayed police strip search review to be published

A report into the treatment of women in custody by Greater Manchester Police will be published within weeks.
The review was triggered by allegations, made by several women, of unjustified strip searches.
The report, by former national victims' commissioner Vera Baird, was due to be published last autumn but faced several delays.
It will now be published on 10 June, Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham said.
'High-profile'
Speaking at a Greater Manchester Police, Fire, and Crime panel meeting on Tuesday, Mr Burnham said: "[High-profile media reports] led to a discussion where we agreed to approach Dame Vera Baird to conduct a review of the treatment of women in custody.
"We opened it up to other people, not just those in the media reports.
"A date of June 10 has been set to publish the report and stakeholders have been informed."
Publication was supposed to have taken place by the end of Mr Burnham's mayoral term, but was delayed by a finalising process that lasted longer than expected.
In February the report was delayed until after the May 2 election.
The meeting also saw deputy mayor Kate Green confirmed in her role for the second term.
