One person has been taken to hospital by police after a crash on a busy road.

One lane was closed on the A14 westbound carriageway, close to junction 53 for the Whitehouse Interchange, near Ipswich, at about 08:00 GMT.

Four cars were involved in the collision and it led to queues backed up to junction 54 for Sproughton.

There were also delays travelling eastbound because of drivers slowing down near the scene, according to traffic monitoring service Inrix.

It was the second day running that the area had suffered from long delays.

There were multiple crashes in the area and a further collision on the A14 near Newmarket on Tuesday.
