A dispersal order has been put in place in a seaside town following reports of a fight and people being seen armed with weapons.

Lincolnshire Police said the order, which includes additional powers to stop and search people, had been issued for an area around the centre of Skegness.

A fight between two groups in the Church Road and North Road areas was reported on Monday night, while people were said to have been in the area with weapons on Tuesday.

Officers said a number of arrests had been made in connection with the incidents.

The dispersal order, which is in force until 04:00 BST on Wednesday, prohibits groups gathering in specific areas, including Lincoln Road, parts of Grand Parade and Wainfleet Road.

Anyone who does not comply could be arrested and prosecuted, a police spokesperson said.
