Hundreds of classic cars in city retro fest

Hundreds of classic cars have combined with vintage fashion and live music to turn a city centre 'retro'.
Gloucester Goes Retro, returning for its ninth year, involves vehicles from the 1900s up the 1990s, an antiques fair, a military village and a best dressed competition.
Councillor Caroline Courtney, cabinet member for culture and leisure at Gloucester City Council, called it "one of the highlights of our city’s year."
It is organised and funded by the council in partnership with the Gloucester Business Improvement District (BID).
Plenty of fans of vintage fashion turned out for the event despite the rain, including Rachel who admitted she was a big fan of polka dots.
"I just love dressing up in retro clothes and couldn't pass up the opportunity," she said.
Stacey Hindon-Granlund said her vintage-style outfits were also her day-to-day wear.
"It only takes me about half-an-hour to get ready after 20 years of practise," she said.
Visitors Nicki and Carol had not been to the festival in previous years and said it was "nice to see blasts from the past".
They said it was "positive" for Gloucester and were pleased to see a vintage Golf GTI has they both owned one in the past.
As well as there being older cars on display, the festival featured a restoration village where visitors could see work in progress.
The military village featured a huge REME 32-tonne recovery vehicle and the World War II Hellcat tank.
