Friday's race programme features three races

The resumption of racing for the Isle of Man TT following Thursday's rest day has been delayed by more than two hours due to overnight rainfall leaving roads wet.

Clerk of the course Gary Thompson said the day's three-race programme had been pushed back to allow more time for the roads to dry.

Ahead of action on the 37.7-mile (61km) Mountain Course, a course inspection lap has been scheduled to take place at 13:15 BST.

The A18 Mountain Road was closed at 11:00, with roads on the lower section shut at 12:00 on what is due to be the penultimate race day of the two-week festival.

Both qualifying and racing have been severely disrupted by poor weather conditions.

Friday's schedule includes the previously postposed second sidecar race, which has been truncated to two laps from three.

Friday's race schedule

13:15 - Course Inspection Lap

14:30 - Superstock TT Race 2 (3 laps)

16:30 - Sidecar TT Race 2 (2 laps)

18:00 - Supertwin TT Race 2 (3 laps)

As Friday is a public holiday on the Isle of Man, lower roads around the course do not have to be opened between 17:00 and 18:00 so can remain closed until 21:30.
