Wednesday's road closures were delayed by two hours because of the weather

The day's remaining racing at the Isle of Man TT has been called off due to heavy rain around the course and further incoming inclement weather.

Wednesday's race programme had been pushed back by more than two hours due to earlier showers, but got under way shortly after 13:00 BST.

That saw Northern Ireland's Michael Dunlop take his third win of the week in the second Supersport race, extending his record tally of victories at the event to 32.

But showers in the west of the island shortly before the planned start of the second Sidecar race, which had already been shortened to two laps, led organisers to call a halt to the day's action.

Racing was initially delayed by two hours due to the weather before a non-racing medical emergency in Kirk Michael and a road traffic collision at Ginger Hall pushed the schedule back further.

Organisers said that further rain forecasted until 18:00 meant the use of the evening's contingency sessions has been ruled out.

As a result a solo practice session, which was set to take place following the Sidecar race, has also been scrapped.

The 2025 event around the 37.7-mile (61km) Mountain Course has been plagued with weather delays since it began on 26 May.

Organisers have confirmed that the postponed second Sidecar race would now take place as part of Friday's schedule, but remain reduced to two laps.

Friday's race schedule

  • 10:45 - Superstock Race 2 (2 laps)

  • 13:00 - Sidecar Race 2 (2 laps)

  • 15:00 - Senior Practice Lap

  • 16:15 - Supertwin Race 2 (3 laps)
