A fire crew remained at the scene of a blaze overnight which destroyed almost all of a cottage's thatched roof.
Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service said 11 crews including some from Norfolk were called to The Street in Rickinghall at about 11:57 GMT on Sunday.
Crews were stood down at 21:56 but one team remained overnight.
Following an investigation, the service said the most probable cause was an ember or spark from a log burner that had been lit in the neighbouring property.
While the road was closed by police it had reopened and no casualties were reported.

The fire service said 11 crews from Suffolk and Norfolk attended the scene
