Police in Leicester have issued a warning to drivers over thieves targeting Toyota vehicles.

The Japanese marque is currently seeing an increase in thefts, said police covering the Beaumont Leys area of the city.

An alert from West Leicester Police on Friday said: "There has been a recent increase in Toyota branded vehicle incidents.

"As criminals have been targeting them, our advice is for an increase in security around these vehicles, such as a wheel locks and CCTV covering your prized possession to prevent criminals taking it for themselves."
