An investigation will take place after a fire in a field spread across about eight hectares (about 20 acres) of grassland.

Essex County Fire & Rescue Service said trees were also affected by the blaze near Stambridge Road, Rochford, on Thursday afternoon.

Nearby residents were asked to keep their doors and windows closed due to the amount of smoke.

Four crews attended, and the fire was out by 16:55 BST.
