Birthing pools to re-open after three-year closure

Birthing pools at the Inverurie Midwife Unit are to be brought back into use after being closed for more than three years.
They have been shut since 2020 due to "complex" water quality issues.
Expectant mothers who want access to the pools can use them from 29 January.
NHS Grampian said after significant repairs they had now found a working solution.
But work is continuing to address issues with the birthing pool at Aberdeen's maternity hospital, which is still not available for use.
There are facilities available at Dr Gray's Hospital in Elgin and at Peterhead Maternity Unit.
