Disqualified motorist drives home from court

A disqualified driver who drove home from court has been jailed.
Steven Luck, 39, from Darlington, was banned from driving for 28 months and handed fines at Peterlee Magistrates' Court on Tuesday for drink driving.
Following his disqualification, Luck was then seen getting into his car outside court to travel home, Durham Police said.
He was pursued by officers and within 30 minutes of leaving the court he was back in police custody, where he was then sentenced to eight weeks in prison and a further 12-month driving ban.
Video shared by Durham Police of Luck's second arrest showed him acknowledging that he had just been disqualified from driving and saying: "But I didn't know it starts straight away, does it?"
He was taken back to Darlington Police station on Tuesday, officers said.
On Wednesday, Luck was handed an eight-week prison sentence, an additional fine and his driving ban was extended for a year at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates' Court for driving while disqualified and without insurance.
In a post accompanying the video, Durham Police said: "That's what happens when you push your Luck."
