Thomas the Ramsey Town Cat's high street popularity has been celebrated with special award

A five-year-old cat who has become famous among locals on the Isle of Man has been presented with a special collar to cement his place in people's hearts.

Thomas the Ramsey Town Cat is known for roaming between stores along Parliament Street, where many offer him food and a comfortable bed to sleep in.

With an online following of more than 1,000 people, many of his fans were keen to see him officially recognised.

He was presented with his ceremonial collar, which included a bow featuring a silver Manx cat medallion, at the Town Hall on Tuesday.
