More than 60 roads to be resurfaced in county
- Published
Resurfacing is going to be carried out on more than 60 stretches of road in Shropshire over the next 12 months.
The local authority said the work would prevent potholes forming and improve the grip and water resistance of those roads.
The resurfacing involves removing up to 30cm (1ft) of a worn-out road surface and replacing with a material such as asphalt.
The council said it also plans to carry out a simpler procedure, known as surface dressing, on another nearly 50 roads in the county this summer.
This work will involve a new top layer of bitumen and chippings above the existing surface.
The council said the surface dressing would be enough to protect roads for up to 15 years.
Dates for the work have not yet been announced but a full list of the roads due to be resurfaced can be found on the council's website, external.
