Woman bailed over serious injury hit-and-run

A woman arrested after a pedestrian was taken to hospital with serious injuries following a hit-and-run has been released on police bail.
The victim, a woman in her 40s, was struck by a car on the A329 Caversham Road, near the junction of Abattoirs Road in Reading, Berkshire, at about 04:00 BST on Friday.
Thames Valley Police said she remains in hospital with serious injuries.
The force said a 29-year-old woman from the town arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving had been bailed while investigations continue.
