Tip site reopens after closure for public safety

A Leicestershire tip site shut to the public over "safety concerns" after a HGV caused damage on-site is due to reopen.
Kibworth Recycling and Household Waste Site closed on 6 November after a lorry replacing a waste container damaged a steel canopy over the waste bays.
Leicestershire County Council, which said the site off the A6 was closed for a "structural assessment", added the tip was due to reopen on Tuesday.
Market Harborough tip had been open daily since the closure but its hours will now revert to usual opening hours from Thursday to Saturday.
The council said some of the bays at Kibworth would remain closed off despite the site opening back up.
A spokesperson said: "We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause."
Kibworth tip is open Sunday to Wednesday.
