Plans for 290 homes in Melton Mowbray are set to receive a final seal of approval on Thursday.

Melton Borough Council's planning committee has been recommended by officials to approve a reserved matters application for homes on land at Sysonby Farm off Nottingham Road.

According to planning documents the proposed development would contain 51 homes that have been classified as affordable.

This comes after the council previously approved an initial outline application for the homes as well as a new primary school, a shop and offices.

A report said the reserved matters applications for the school, shop and offices were under consideration.

Documents added the proposed development would provide a variety of house types and sizes to meet the "identified need" in the area.
