A 26-year-old man who was stabbed to death in Manchester has been named.

Vernard Murray died after he was attacked on Cardinal Street, Cheetham Hill, on Thursday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the scene but despite resuscitation attempts Mr Murray later died in hospital.

A 19-year-old man was later arrested on suspicion of murder shortly afterwards and two others, aged 18 and 22, have since also been held, Greater Manchester Police said.
