Man in his 40s dies at work in scrapyard

A man died at the J Davidson scrap yard in Altrincham

A man in his 40s has died following an incident at a scrapyard.
The man was pronounced dead after emergency services were called to J Davidson on Atlantic Street in the Broadheath area of Altrincham on Wednesday at 15:15 BST.
Greater Manchester Police said inquiries were ongoing into the circumstances surrounding the man's death.
A spokesperson for J Davidson said its "heartfelt condolences go to his family and loved ones affected by the loss".
"We are committed to offering support to the family and those affected.
"We are fully co-operating with the police and Health and Safety Executive (HSE)."
The J Davidson spokesman added the firm was unable to comment further while investigations were ongoing.
The HSE said it was aware of the incident and working with police.
