Firefighters who tackled a large camper van blaze during the night have said they believe the fire was started deliberately.

The white Fiat van in Hide Hollow, the road between Pevensey and Westham, was well alight when crews were called at about 01:20 BST on Tuesday.

The vehicle had been untaxed since August 2020 and its MOT expired in March 2021.

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said it believed the fire was deliberate. There were no injuries.

Sussex Police said it was aware of the incident and asked anyone with information to get in contact.
