Firefighters have worked through the night to tackle a large blaze at a scrapyard in Moray.

Emergency services were dispatched to J Gordon Williamson on Moycroft Road, Elgin, at about 22:30 on Tuesday.

At the height of the blaze six fire engines and a number of specialist resources were at the site. There were no reports of casualties.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) said four appliances remained at the yard on Wednesday morning.

A number of road closures were in place around the site with no access to the Tyock industrial estate from the A96.

An SFRS spokesperson said: "We are continuing to ask members of the public who live or work locally to keep windows and doors closed at this time due to smoke."
