A man has been charged with 13 offences after a car was stolen and drivers were allegedly threatened.

At about 17:40 BST on 20 August, a Ford Mondeo was stolen from Telford Road in London Colney, Hertfordshire and driven to the A405 North Orbital Road just before the M1 where it was abandoned.

A man left the vehicle, allegedly threatened several drivers before officers were called and he made off into undergrowth. A police search was then conducted.

A man was arrested and appeared at Hatfield Remand Court on Tuesday charged with offences including robbery and threats with a bladed article (knife).

He was also charged with dangerous driving, six attempted robberies, two counts of criminal damage, assault by beating and affray.

He is next due to appear at St Albans Crown Court on 12 November.
