Four candidates have been elected as Chief Pleas conseillers in Sark.

Chief Pleas said Patrick Dewe, Samuel Keyte, Nicolas Moloney and Karl Rang would be joining the island's government after the other two candidates withdrew during the by-election on Wednesday.

Alan Blythe withdrew for personal reasons after the nominations had closed.

During the voting process it was discovered that Joseph Perrée was not registered on the electoral roll and therefore not eligible to stand so he had to withdraw.

Chief Pleas said this was not identified during the time of the nomination process due to an administrative oversight.

The by-election followed the resignation of four conseillers, who had different terms of office left.

Returning officer Paul Armorgie said the new conseillers' terms of office would be determined on Friday by the drawing of lots before they swore their oaths of allegiance in the Seneschal's court.
