A borough council in Surrey is inviting residents, community groups, and local organisations to apply for funding to support projects that improve their neighbourhoods.

This funding comes from Surrey Heath Borough Council's Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) , which is a charge paid by developers working in the borough.

The CIL helps local authorities deliver the required infrastructure when new developments are built.

Alan Ashbery, the council's portfolio holder for built environment and regulation, said: "Whether it's improving green spaces, upgrading community facilities, or tackling climate change, CIL funding can help turn your vision into reality."

To be considered, projects must support the council's key infrastructure priorities, which include accessible natural green spaces, local transport improvements, playgrounds, indoor sports and leisure facilities, community buildings, climate change initiatives, and digital infrastructure.

Applications can be submitted until 16:00 BST on 13 October.

This call is specifically for projects in unparished wards of Surrey Heath, including Frimley, Frimley Green, Heatherside, Mytchett and Deepcut, Old Dean, Parkside, St Michael's, St Paul's, Camberley town, Watchetts.

The fund will reopen to applications in January 2026.
