Teenage boy dies following incident at Dublin apartment

A teenage boy has died following an incident at a property in north Dublin.
Another teenage boy has been taken to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. He remains in hospital.
A woman received medical attention at the scene for non-life threatening injuries.
The incident happened in the Grattan Wood apartment complex in Donaghmede.
Gardaí (Irish police) said the incident is "no longer active and there is no ongoing threat to the community".
They also said they are "not looking for any other person in relation to this incident at this time and is following a definite line of enquiry".
Tusla confirmed the incident happened at one of its emergency residential units, which provides care on a 24-hour basis to separated young people.
Tusla is the Irish state agency responsible for child welfare and protection.
"The incident involved two young people, during which a fatal injury was sustained. An Garda Sióchána are now conducting a full investigation, and we are co-operating fully with their enquiries," Tusla said.
The agency added: "Our immediate priority is the safety and wellbeing of the other young people and staff at this unit.
"We are providing additional supports to everyone directly affected and making efforts to contact the families of the young people who were residing there."
Gardaí and other emergency services responded to a call for assistance at the property shortly after 11:00 BST.
On arrival a seriously injured teenage boy was discovered at the scene.
Despite the assistance of paramedics the boy was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene, gardaí said.
Gardaí and emergency services assisted a number of other juveniles and adults at the scene.
The scene remains preserved for examination by the Garda Technical Bureau and Forensic Science Ireland.
The body of the teenage boy has been taken to Dublin City Mortuary, where a post-mortem examination will be carried out.
The results of that will assist in determining the course of the investigation, gardaí said.
'Shocked and saddened'
Taoiseach (Irish prime minister) and Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin has said he is "shocked and saddened at the loss of life" at the Tusla facility.
"Our thoughts go to the bereaved family and those injured during this incident," Martin said.
"The wellbeing of the young people in this facility and the staff is now paramount."
Tánaiste (Irish deputy prime minister) and Fine Gael leader Simon Harris said he is "deeply saddened".
"This is a truly shocking event and my thoughts are with all those impacted by it, in particular the bereaved family and those injured."
Denise Mitchell, Sinn Féin TD for Dublin Bay North, said: "I want to commend the Gardaí and emergency services for their speedy action in bringing the situation under control."
