A man has been jailed for attempted murder following a shooting after a Mercedes crashed into an ambulance.
The green Mercedes crashed into a private ambulance near junction seven of the A1 (M) at Stevenage, Hertfordshire, on 6 September 2023, and then continued to Lytton Way where gunshots were heard.
Tommy Harbour, of Hatfield, Holwell Lane, was found guilty of attempted murder and sentenced to 25 years in prison after a trial at Peterborough Crown Court.
He was also disqualified from driving for two years and will need to retake a driving test.
Hertfordshire Police said earlier in the day he had been involved in an altercation in Holwell Lane, Hatfield, with two other men: Terry Holmes, 32, and Tommy Harbour Junior, 26.
Mr Holmes left that location in a van and he was followed by the two other men in the Mercedes.
At about 18:30 BST the two vehicles came off the A1(M) where the Mercedes was involved in a collision with a private ambulance and two other vehicles on the nearby roundabout.
Both vehicles then continued into Stevenage along Lytton Way where gunshots were reported.
The senior Tommy Harbour was traced and arrested on 7 September and the van was recovered from Hitchin the next day with bullet holes visible in the driver's door.
'Dangerous individual'
Det Sgt Robert Muir from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit described Harber as a "dangerous individual and it is right that he will now face justice for his actions".
He added: "All three men knew each other, and we believe there was a long running feud between them.”
The two other men were both charged with attempted murder in connection with the altercation on Holwell Lane but were found not guilty.
