A 13-year-old girl was among a group of four teenagers arrested for attempted murder after another girl was stabbed.

Thames Valley Police said it was called to Amersham Road near Amersham Hill, High Wycombe, at about 01:35 BST on Thursday, and a teenage girl was taken to hospital with "life-threatening injuries".

A 17-year-old, from High Wycombe, was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and has now been further arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

All four women, who are from from High Wycombe, remain in police custody including two aged 18 and 19.

Det Insp Philip Turner-Robson said: “I would like to reiterate that we believe this was a targeted attack with no threat to the wider public.

“Anyone with concerns can get in touch or speak to a uniformed officer in the area."

Police officers were expected to remain at the scene as the investigation continues.
