Care home rated 'inadequate' for a second time

A West Yorkshire care home has been told to make rapid improvements after being rated "inadaquate" by a health watchdog for a second time.
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) visited Aden House Care Home in Huddersfield, which was caring for up to 60 people at the time of the inspection.
According to the report, inspectors were concerned about understaffing, as well as conflicting information in patient records.
In a statement, Aden House Care Home said it was "deeply concerned" by the findings.
The report acknowledged that leadership at Aden House has improved since a previous inspection, but the overall rating remained as "inadequate".
Inspectors also said accidents and incidents were not always recorded and appropriately reported.
The home remains in special measures, the watchdog said, meaning the CQC will keep it under close review.
Sheila Grant, CQC deputy director of operations in the North, called the inspection findings "disappointing".
"Leaders had made little improvement or progress since we last inspected," she said.
"We continued to identify repeated shortfalls that compromised the safety of people and the quality of care they were receiving."
'Significant improvements'
She added inspectors did however observe staff speaking to people in a caring and respectful way.
Ms Grant concluded: "We will return to check on their progress and won’t hesitate to take further action if people aren’t receiving the care they have a right to expect."
A spokesperson for Aden House Care Home said: "Significant improvements have been made since the last inspection.
"Our new home manager and regional manager will continue to oversee and implement further improvements."
They continued: "We have reassured our residents and their loved ones that our highest priority is providing a safe, comfortable and caring environment for those who reside with us."
