Man rebailed over ice hockey player's death

Police have extended the bail of a man arrested on suspicion of manslaughter following the death of ice hockey player Adam Johnson.

The Nottingham Panthers player suffered a neck injury from a skate during a collision with Sheffield Steelers' Matt Petgrave on 28 October.

The 29-year-old was taken to hospital in Sheffield where he was pronounced dead.

On Wednesday, South Yorkshire Police said the man, initially arrested in November, had been bailed again until 2 September.

A spokesperson for the force said: "Our investigation is ongoing and our thoughts remain with Adam’s family."
